In this ceiling fan wiring diagram, the blue ceiling fan wire is connected to the load side of the wall switch, thus controlling the fan’s ignition. The black fan wire connects to the LINE so the fan pull chain switch can control the fan motor independently of the wall switch.

It is not unusual to use a white wire as a hot wire or LINE in the transition. But the white wire must be re-identified with a color other than white, gray or green. I have books on various electrical machines that we use for re-identification. Some electricians use a permanent ink pen to type a marker to change the color of the wire.
With new home construction, the National Electrical Regulations require that a neutral conductor be installed in place of many electrical wall switch boxes. The center stage allows you to use an electronic device to control the ceiling fan and switch on the switch instead of the wall switch. I have never seen a ceiling fan attached or stamped to the housing or motor. Most ceiling fans have internal wiring diagrams that show the blue and black wires in the installation instructions.

The ceiling fan wiring diagram above shows that the power first goes to the electrical switch box, then the switched hot and neutral currents go up to the electrical box over a two-conductor cable. With this system, the black wire from the fan motor and the blue wire from the ceiling light to the fan light, both wires are connected to the load switch in the wall.
The fan and lights are controlled by the same wall switch, although the wall switch can be left and the fan and lighting separate with pull chain switches.
A remote control can also be ordered for this ceiling fan. The wall pass must only be kept in position.

If you don’t want remote control, but want all of your fan’s options in a wall-mounted outlet, look for a wall-mounted ceiling fan that works through your existing wiring. In some cases, it’s just a remote control that fits into the wall like a regular wall pass.

The method shown above is to apply the rated neutral to the junctions from the power source in the ceiling fan box. The blue wire of the fan is connected to the red wire of the PONDIUM wall switch. The black fan wire is connected to the LINE. The wall switch controls the ceiling fan lighting and the pull chain switch controls the motor car independently of the wall switch.
By having hot and neutral in the junction box, it can provide power to other things, such as an electrical outlet. The diagram above shows the red BRIDGE wire from the wall switch connecting to the blue wire from the ceiling fan to control the lighting. The motor drives the fan outside the wall switch with the chain of the fan tracks, as the black wire of the fan is connected directly to the LINE.
