Make sure the wall switch, remote control, and/or rocker switch shown in this image are in the off position. Then locate the red or black ignition button.* Press the ignition to check for a spark in the pilot area.
Locate the black or green valve control button (the button labeled ON, OFF, and PILOT). Push and turn counterclockwise until the word “Pilot” is at the 6 o’clock position.**

If the indicator light goes out, repeat steps 5 and 6. Do not forget to close the gas supply valve (Fig. 1). If it is on, lightly press the valve knob and turn it counterclockwise until the word “ON” is at the 6 o’clock position.

Finally, turn the unit’s ON/OFF switch (or wall switch or remote control) to the “ON” position to start the fire.

Flashing pilot ignition systems (flashing pilot systems): Turn on the wall switch. You should see a spark near the pilot’s hood. If the pilot does not light within 45 seconds, turn the on/off switch back to the off position and wait 15 seconds. If necessary, repeat this step until the pilot lights.
NOTE: If the ignition switch is left on for more than 60 seconds and the pilot does not ignite, the fireplace will enter a “lockout” mode.
Here are the steps to get your fireplace out of “lockout” mode: If your fireplace has a black reset button, press the button.
If your fireplace does not have a reset button, unplug the white molex connector from the module on the bottom of the fireplace to the right of the valve, wait 60 seconds and turn it back on. As an alternative to unplugging the white molex connector, you can turn off the power to the fireplace at the breaker box, wait 60 seconds, and turn the power back on.
