I have a two pole 20 amp circuit that I plan to run 3 base board heaters and 2 line voltage thermostats. I have already made sure that the water consumption of the 3 heaters will not exceed 3840 watts. I ran a 12/2 wire from the breaker to the first thermostat zone that will control the 2 baseboard heaters and from there to the other thermostat that will control the 3rd heater. I installed a quick sketch for visual reference. I believe I know how to set this up properly, but I just want a sanity check before I do. I believe I can only pull 1 controller to pass power to the second controller area (bedroom) and with the thermostat controlling the two baseboard heaters, it appears that the wiring is straight. However, with a thermostat and 3 12/2s in it, that’s too much for most stand-alone boxes (20.25 cu. in. box infill vs. a standard large code box being 18 in3), so you’ll want to use a box a larger one like a 4″ square and one cover/fender instead. I have a question about the wiring for the old Pacific baseboard heater thermostat. I pulled this thermostat 2 weeks ago thinking we were going to get rid of the thermostat. Now we decided to put the heat on, and I don’t remember how the thermostat was connected. The heat box has two lines: one input, one output. Each line has 1 black, 1 white and an empty ground. I am attaching a picture of the back of the thermostat. It has only 3 connection points. Columns 2, 3 and 4. Can someone help me and tell me which hooks correspond to each column?

This is a split phase 240V, so the two hot spots are the same. White wire should be considered one of the 8 legal warm colors, as it is neutral. If I were wiring the duct, with a choice of one of the 8 colors, I would use black and black as the main parts are interchangeable; there is no need to distinguish fire from each other.
